Minneapolis, MN - Lori-jean Gille, 74, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026.
Born and raised in Duluth, MN, Lori graduated from East High School and attended the University of Minnesota Duluth before moving to Minneapolis. She went on to earn degrees from the University of Minnesota and William Mitchell College of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of Law Review Vol. 5.
Lori's distinguished legal career began clerking for Judge Earl Larson. She went on to complete two "tours" at Dorsey & Whitney and later served as General Counsel for both UnitedHealthcare and MGI Pharma, where she was also Vice President of International. She eventually established her own practice, working as outside counsel for medical device and pharmaceutical companies and negotiating a wide range of complex contracts.
She and her husband shared a 28 year love affair with the island of Sint Maarten, a place that brought them great joy.
Lori is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Penny Dietrich, and three beloved Golden Retrievers. She is survived by her husband, Marc Burton; her sister, Marsha (Roger Raina); and her brother, Brad.
