Erhart, Loren Lawrence Beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on February 16, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on December 8, 1940, in Pine City, Minnesota, Loren was deeply rooted in his community and excelled in sports at Pine City High School, where he participated in baseball, football, track, and basketball. His outstanding athletic accomplishments earned him a well-deserved place in the Pine City High School Hall of Fame. Inspired by his father, Loren developed a lifelong love for the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing, and a deep commitment to church. After graduating high school in 1958, Loren attended Saint Cloud State University for a year before enlisting in the military. He proudly served as a paratrooper in the US Army, becoming a member of the esteemed 101st Airborne Division. Within his first year of service, Loren returned home to marry his high school sweetheart, Deanna, before continuing his military commitment, which included two years stationed in Germany. Together, they raised four sons, instilling in them the values of hard work and dedication. Following his military service, Loren worked for Johnson Brothers Construction, contributing to the construction of 35W from Minneapolis to Duluth. He later joined the Star Tribune, where he dedicated over three decades as a district supervisor in circulation. His career began in Benson, Minnesota, and continued with ten memorable years in Bemidji, where he enjoyed nurturing his sons' love for the outdoors while supporting their athletic pursuits. Loren's strong work ethic and commitment to excellence inspired his sons, who often woke early mornings to deliver newspapers for their dad during their school years. Throughout his time at the Tribune, Loren received numerous awards, including the honor of Supervisor of the Year on four occasions. After retirement, he continued to pursue his passions, often found hunting, fishing, and cheering for his beloved Vikings. His greatest joy came from spending quality time with his sons and their families, which grew to include 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Although Loren preferred to stay out of the spotlight, his legacy of unconditional love and kindness will always be remembered. Loren is survived by his devoted wife, Deanna; sons Mark, Craig, and Chris (wife, Corinne); his daughter- in-law, Nancy; and family friend, Penny. His grandchildren include Joshua (wife April), Courtney Erickson (husband Mike), Patrick Jr. (wife Katie), Justin, Nick (wife Jackie), Michael, Matthew, Isabelle, Andrew, and Johnny. The great- grandchildren are Arryson, Barron, Charlie, John, Patrick III, Grace, and James. Loren was preceded in death by his mother Evangeline, father Lawrence, brother Alan, son Patrick, and grandparents Agnes and Emil Broz. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Huber Funeral & Cremation Services Excelsior Chapel 952-474-9595 www.huberfunerals.com
