Layton, UT - Lee, Linda Gail Wood May 9, 1952 - December 19, 2024 Linda Gail Wood Lee, age 72, of Layton, Utah, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024. Born on May 9, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, Linda spent most of her life in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area, where she raised her five daughters and worked at the Minnesota Star Tribune for over 20 years. Linda was known for her gentle voice, kind words, and ability to comfort others with her calming presence. She had a deep love for music of all genres, enjoyed traveling, crocheting, working with electronics, and especially cherished her beloved dogs - Minnie, Cory, ZT, and many others over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Johnson and Nancy Brown Beardsley; and siblings Cynthia Martin, Valerie Johnson, and Scott Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Gary Lee; daughters Kimberly (Sam) Riser, Dawn (Dave) Burbul, Jennifer (Royce) McCoy, Kristin (Lane) Gehrman, and Angela (Jon) Medina; brother Mark Johnson; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Linda was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in April 2024 and was a member of the Lakeview Ward in Layton, Utah. A Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday, Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Rockwoods Restaurant and Event Center in Otsego, Minnesota. All who knew and loved her are welcome.
