Greenfield, MN - Linda Lou Larson (Melius), 77, of Greenfield, MN finished her last shift at Abbott Northwestern (ANW) Hospital at 0725 on June 6th, 2025.

She was born on October 10, 1947 to Louis and Karen Melius (Drill) in New Ulm, MN. A graduate of Winthrop High School in 1965, she went on to pursue her selfless passion of helping others by attending the Abbott Hospital School of Nursing completing her certificate in 1968. She spent 51 years as an employee of ANW, ending her career as a night nursing supervisor because she loathed computer charting systems. She retained her bubbly bedside manner and brought a smile to every floor she rounded on. During her tenure at ANW, Monticello, and Edina she mentored and touched the lives of countless patients, families, and colleagues.

Linda's passion was gardening. The only thing she tended to with more care was her family. She also fancied herself a lover of all animals (except squirrels and roosters) and particularly enjoyed horses, cowboys, and birds. Selfless, spunky, and spirited, she loved fiercely and gave freely of her time and hugs. Her daughters had no greater example to follow in their shared journeys as nurses and mothers. She shined in her role as grandmother (Nana Llama). Her greatest joys were watching Iris dance, playing cars with Everett, and reading to Noah.

Preceded in death by brother Brent Melius, parents Louis and Karen Melius, and sister-in-law Kim Melius. Survived by siblings Linda (Jonathan) Daube, Tom (Michele) Melius, Jan (Dan) Rettmann, Dana (Trish) Melius, Denise (Tommy) Melius, and Jeff (Kerry) Melius, aunt Marge (Earl) Lindstrand as well as a plethora of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cherished by innumerable colleagues and friends. Daughters Merete Larson and Kjellan (Brian) Ellis carry the best parts of their mother with them always. Father to her children, Brad Larson, shares in their loss. Her biggest fans and grandchildren Iris and Everett Ellis and Noah Offerdahl have known no greater love than that of their Nana's.

Celebration of Life to be held Sunday July 20 from 12PM to 4PM in the Bullard Rainforest Auditorium at Como Park, 1225 Estabrook Dr., St. Paul, MN. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Como Zoo or St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Linda's name.
