Edina, MN - Lin Renee (Krippner) Myszkowski, 66, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on June 19, 2026, at N.C. Little Memorial Hospice in Edina, after many years of living with a rare, early-onset form of Alzheimer's called posterior cortical atrophy.

Lin was born on November 16, 1959 in Rochester, Minnesota to Jay and Gerry Krippner. Her family soon moved to Brooklyn Center, where Lin grew up with her brother Scott on O'Henry Road, in the house she would later raise her own family in.

From an early age, Lin loved music and theater. Her passion for performance blossomed at Park Center High School, where she starred in a number of productions before graduating in 1978. Lin, a soprano, went on to study music at Bemidji State University, where she met the baritone John Myszkowski in choir. The two quickly became "Lin and John", and married in August of 1982. That fall, they moved to Bloomington, Indiana to study vocal performance at the world-renowned Jacobs School of Music. There, Lin played prominent roles in operas including L'enfant et les sortileges, Orfeo ed Euridice, A Hand of Bridge, Carmen, and others.

Lin and John moved back to Minnesota in 1991, where she taught private voice lessons for young people across the Twin Cities and raised her three kids. Lin delighted in being a mom, finding new ways to bring joy and learning to the Myszkowski home each day. She became an active volunteer at Garden City Elementary, and when the school was nearly closed in 2001, she threw herself into educational advocacy. Lin believed strongly that every child has the right to a high quality public education. Throughout her tenure on the Osseo School Board, she dedicated herself to better outcomes for kids, especially by championing the establishment of the Northwest Family Services Center. The hub for food assistance and neighborhood support was opened in 2012, soon after Lin was elected to the Brooklyn Center City Council. It is one of many lasting marks of Lin's commitment to her home community.

Through music, education, and activism, Lin helped countless students, constituents, and neighbors find their voice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Gerry Krippner, and many beloved pets. She is survived by her adoring husband of 44 years, John Myszkowski of Brooklyn Center; her loyal collie Jack; brother Scott Krippner (Victoria) of Modesto, CA; and her children: Olivia (Jonathan), Samuel, and Sophia.

Visitation: Wednesday, June 24th at 12PM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 7217 W Broadway, Brooklyn Park, MN 55428, followed by Funeral Service at 1PM.
