Lillian Carol Rumpza Obituary

Plymouth, MN - Lillian Carol Rumpza, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a joyful spirit whose warmth filled every room, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025.

Lillian was born on October 18, 1942, in Florida. She was known for her talent in the kitchen and her beautifully set tables, her warm sense of humor, her love of horseracing, and the creativity she expressed through interests like sewing, crocheting, knitting, and scrapbooking. She was also an avid reader and a gifted writer who loved telling stories and capturing memories. Holidays were her specialty, and her attention to detail made every celebration feel magical. With a remarkable memory for birthdays and special occasions, she made each person in her life feel cherished. She had a way of knowing exactly what people needed, whether it was a big hug, a laugh or a shoulder to cry on. Lillian's family finds comfort knowing she is at peace and watching over them.

Lillian is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, David Rumpza; her children Julianne Moriarty; Maureen Moyer (Kyle); Dierdre Hurley; Matthew Rumpza (Kathryn); and Aimee Rumpza. She leaves behind grandchildren Angela Moriarty, Shawn Hodgeman (Shelby), Sara Floyd (Dustin), Elijah Thompson, Mackenzie and Mason Dalton, and great-grandchildren Aryana and Annistin Floyd, and Sonny Hodgeman. She is also survived by her sisters Renee Kohner (Peter), Diana Woodford, and Jeanne Woodford-Newman. She was preceded in death by her grandson Seth Moyer, granddaughter Heather Moriarty, son-in-law Michael Moriarty and brother Craig Woodford.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring on a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association of Minnesota. Special thanks to the staff at Brookdale Plymouth Assisted Living and the hospice workers at Caretenders for their amazing care.
