Leo Hopf Obituary
Edina, Minnesota - Leo Hopf, 50-year resident of Edina, died peacefully at home on February 22. Son of Leo John Hopf, Sr. and Thora Viger, Leo was born in Minneapolis on January 6, 1935. He graduated from Central High School, then served six years in the US Army and reserves.
Originally with his father and uncle, later in partnership with his late wife, Pam Hopf, Leo owned Hopf & Hopf printing, a fixture of Cedar-Riverside, then Seward neighborhoods. As a printer/lithographer, he capitalized on his exquisite attention to detail in production and fundamental fairness in business.
Leo's greatest gift was his delight in other people. He will be missed by his family, colleagues, customers, neighbors, senior league golfers, his Junto group, the wait staff at Perkins, and frankly anyone who ever had the pleasure of a conversation with him.
Leo is survived by children Janet and Leo Hopf (Harriet) and Laurie Hansen (Todd) and grandchildren Soren Hansen, McKinley Hopf, and Berit Hansen. A celebration of his life and interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
