Dr. Lee Bjork Sanderson Obituary

Rio Verde, AZ - 85, passed away May 23rd, 2024 in Fountain Hills, Arizona. He lived a full life, always with a "smile".

He was born to Ken and Evelyn Sanderson on November 15th, 1938 in Hallock, Mn. The oldest of two boys, Lee and Paul grew up playing golf in Worthington Mn. He spent two years in Pittsburg Ca., his sophomore and junior years in high school while his father learned dentistry in the Army. He moved back to Worthington, MN. his senior year, where he met the love of his life, Eunice Marie Madison.

He would go onto Concordia College in Moorhead, Mn and graduate Summa Cum Laude. He then completed his Masters degree in Physics at the University of Minnesota. Last he received his PhD in Mathematics at George Washington University in 1968, while working for IBM at the Pentagon.

Eunice and Lee have two children, Stephen and Kent (Debbie) Sanderson and two grandchildren , Kaia and Gabriela. Lee is preceded in death by his brother, Paul (Janet). Family was the most important part of life for Lee and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

Lee and Eunice later moved from Minnesota to Rio Verde, Arizona in 1999, where they enjoyed their golden years with other Minnesotans playing golf and the warm sunshine of Arizona.

A memorial service will be held at Community Church of the Verdes on November 22nd, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel, with a reception to follow at the Rio Verde Country club to celebrate the Life of Lee Bjork Sanderson and Eunice Marie Sanderson.
