Lea Ann Strand Obituary

Redmond, WA - Lea Ann Strand, born Lea Ann Dahlke, passed away peacefully at the Evergreen Hospice Care Center in Kirkland, Washington on Monday, March 2, 2026, while holding her youngest daughter's hand.

Born in Fairmont, MN on October 19, 1945, Lea Ann was an activist for peace during her entire adult life. She truly believed and lived by a quote she loved: "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." And in today's political climate, she believed that more than ever.

Lea Ann was a singer, an actress, a lover of books and quotes, a traveler and an open-armed mother. She appreciated beautiful views, good (and bad) wine, good friends and family.

Upon graduating from St. Olaf College in Minnesota, Lea Ann married R. Kevin Strand. She became a teacher and, later, a textbook sales representative.

Lea Ann is survived by her husband, two brothers, three daughters (Mari, Casey and Courtney) and three grandchildren.
