Laura Leigh Havlina Obituary

Mpls - Havlina, Laura Leigh (Madsen) Laura Leigh Havlina, "LL", age 91, passed peacefully at home, at dawn on May 11, 2025, surrounded by the children, grandchildren and pets she loved fiercely. She worked for 30 years as an elementary school teacher for Minneapolis Public Schools. LL avidly pursued many hobbies and activities: reading, travel, her pets, wildflowers, composting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking, cooking (especially ratatouille and marmalade), a fascination with architecture, history, languages and a special devotion to coffee that almost no other love could rival. Preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a favorite cousin. Survived by her brother, three children, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchil-dren and a best friend. She will be remembered for her wit, heart and soul. Her family extends a warm welcome to all who knew her, former students especially, to the Celebration of Life July 12, 1:00 pm at Prospect Park United Methodist Church, 22 Orlin Ave SE. Memorials preferred to the Free Book Buggy. Colorful attire encouraged!
