Maple Grove, Minnesota - Kenneth Harry Alverson, 73, of Maple Grove, passed away on April 19, 2025, in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Born to Harry Homer and Virginia Florence (Youngberg) Alverson.
Ken graduated from Southwest High School in 1969 and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He earned a degree in Computer Science at Normandale Community College in 1974. Ken married Carol Ann Gonsior in 1989. Ken worked as a software engineer before retiring. Ken was a member of VFW Post 494 and enjoyed travel, photography, and technology.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother Jim. Surviving are his wife Carol, his sons Alexander "Starf" (Tina James), and Roger, brother John, nephews Tim (Kim) and Donald, sister-in-law Mary (Jim) Alverson, sister-in-law Lisa (Joe) Tohey and niece Hayley.
Visitation at 10 am, funeral at 11 am on May 17, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church, 241 5th Ave N, Hopkins . Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on May 21 at 10:30 am.
