Maple Grove - We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Kathy of Maple Grove who passed away after a brief illness on November 26, 2025 at the age of 80. Her son, Jeff, was by her side as he held her hand.
The only child of Frank and Mary Brennen, she was born in Richmond, Virginia and raised in Minneapolis. Kathy was a proud alumna of Marshall High School and the University of Minnesota. Her Masters degree in education and love of children fostered a lifetime of teaching 3rd grade in the Anoka-Hennepin school district. For a period of 3 years Kathy lived in Fargo ND where she became the Director of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. Her manager told her she was hired because her principal at Monroe Elementary said she was an outstanding teacher.
Upon retirement Kathy's relentless energy kept her busy traveling internationally, babysitting her two granddaughters, maintaining a daily routine at LifeTime, volunteering for those less fortunate, active in book clubs, and enjoying frequent gatherings with many friends at various Happy Hours.
Kathy is survived by her son Jeff, daughter-in-law Teresa, and granddaughters Ava and Alivia.
A celebration of life on Wednesday, December 17, at 11:00 with visitation one hour prior at the KOZLAK RADULOVICH MAPLE GROVE CHAPEL, 13745 Reimer Drive, Maple Grove.
