Las Vegas, Nevada - Nov. 23, 1946 - Dec. 12, 2025
Kathleen Hartmann, 79, peacefully entered heaven December 12, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in Minneapolis, Kathleen's early years were marked by trauma; but by grace through faith, her life overflowed with love, poured out to her son, family, and all who knew her.
A champion for equality, Kathleen dedicated her career in social work to serving the most vulnerable in Hennepin County. She strove to eradicate racism, sexism, and injustice wherever she found it, believing deeply in the dignity of every person. She often said, "Diversity is the spice of life — and smart business."
Kathleen's deep and enduring faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life and work and sustained her through a courageous 15-year battle with Alzheimer's.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Harrigan and John Hartmann; her sisters, Patricia Flanagan and Margaret Murphy; and her beloved grandson, Isaiah Yunger. She is survived by her son, David Yunger (Lisette); sister, Mary Hartmann (Billie); grandsons, Jamison and Joshua Yunger; and nieces and nephews including Peggy Flanagan (Tom), Molly Ritchie (Annie), Misha Wahlstrom (Nechama), and Julie Wahlstrom.
"As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you."
-Isaiah 66:13
A funeral service will be held at 11am (visitation 10am) on Friday, April 10, 2026, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Wayzata.
