Golden Valley - age 81, of Golden Valley, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025.

Karen was born on April 14, 1944, in Fargo, North Dakota and was adopted by Arnold and Geneva (Hagen) Lona. She grew up surrounded by love and Midwestern values that she carried with her throughout her life. On May 7, 1966, she married the love of her life, Gary Lund, and together they built a life rooted in family, faith, and dedication.

Karen was a skilled and meticulous bookkeeper, lending her talents to several CPA firms over the years. Her work ethic was only matched by her devotion to her family. She was a loving wife, a nurturing mother, and a proud grandmother, whose greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Gary; sons, Jason Gary and Kevin Thomas; daughter-in law Michelle Lund and former daughter-in law Beckey Lund; and her cherished grandchildren, Koleman Thomas, Greta Margaret, Elias Luis, Milena Jessica, Kelson Walter, Charlie Gerald, and Cecile Louise Lund. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Geneva; her brother, Howard Lona; and her precious granddaughter, Leah Ruth Lund.

Karen had a creative spirit and a generous heart. She enjoyed bowling in leagues, creating ceramics, sewing, watching cardinals from her window, and most of all, being with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

A visitation to celebrate Karen's life will be held on Saturday, October 11th, from 1:00–4:00 PM at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 5801 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55419.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family.
