Steamboat Springs, CO - 91, recently of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, peacefully passed away in Minnesota on November 15, 2025 after a brief illness. Judy was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Lorraine C. and Jasper Perry Dotson, Jr. "Perry". She was raised in St. Paul and graduated from University High School in Minneapolis in 1952. She attended Connecticut College and the University of Minnesota where she met her husband, Jim Kline. Judy and Jim were married for nearly 67 years and raised two daughters in Anoka and St. Cloud after their marriage in 1956. Judy was a homemaker and then managed Jim's Oral Surgery practice until they retired in 1991, moved to Steamboat to ski and lived there for 30 years.
Judy was an active Girl Scout and became a Brownie and Girl Scout leader as Kathy and Susan became old enough to participate. She was a sister of Kappa Alpha Theta at the U of M. She was an avid golfer and was the most experienced camper in the family when they started canoe camping together in the BWCA. Judy and Jim continued camping in their RV and travel trailer for many years. During their marriage, the couple also enjoyed time spent in Grand Rapids, MN, Grand Junction, CO and Green Valley, AZ. Judy learned to love skiing, hunting and trapshooting with Jim. She learned to be the family computer user and really enjoyed learning to work with clay during the months spent in Green Valley "during the mud season". She loved jazz, playing the piano and read so much that Greg and Nirmal kept stacks of library books next to her chair.
She was a two-time cancer survivor who was predeceased by her husband and her parents. She is survived by daughters Kathy Kline Dehler (Greg), Susan Kline (Nirmal Bhattarai), grandsons Bill Dehler (Lauren MacAfee), Tom Dehler (Anna), and Santi Bhattarai-Kline, great-granddaughter Heidi Dehler, sister Marcia Leider, brother Perry Dotson, their spouses and many nieces and nephews, and Judy's beloved 13 year-old puppy Maggie.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date. The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.www.cremationsocietyofmn.com
