Judith Ann Herrmann Obituary

Springfield, MO, MO - Judith Ann Herrmann (Farrell) was born on May 20, 1934, in Lima, OH. Judy was the oldest daughter of John Judson Farrell and Thelma M. Farrell (Houseworth). She passed away on November 3, 2025, in Springfield, MO, from cerebrovascular and heart disease.

Judy graduated from St. Gerard Catholic High School in Lima, OH. On September 17, 1955, she married Samuel S. Herrmann. In 1962 Judy and Sam moved their family from Ohio to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Judy and Sam loved living in Minnesota and truly believed there was no better place. Judy was the Energizer Bunny and could accomplish more in one day than most could in a week. She was not one to sit still unless she was reading a book at which time her children could get away with something she would usually say no to. Judy also loved playing bridge and did not like losing. After having five children, Judy decided it was time to work outside of the home and became a realtor. After she and Sam retired they kept themselves busy volunteering at VEAP, St Edward's funeral luncheons, Bloomington Civic Theater, working as an election official, and had a term on the Bloomington Park Board. Judy and Sam loved to travel in the US and abroad. Some of the overseas adventures include China, Greece, Jordan, Israel, Egypt, Italy, England, Ireland, France, and Germany.

Judy had four sons, John (Cindy), David (Ginny, deceased), Christopher (Brenda), and Mark (Patty, deceased), a daughter, Susan Ekstam (Keith), five grandsons, Stephen Herrmann, Michael Herrmann (Claudia Schwartz-Herrmann), Andy Herrmann (Keya Johnson), Joey Ekstam (Jamie Strong), Leland Ekstam (Lilly Boyd), and great granddaughters, Mavis Herrmann and Hazel Ekstam.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Sam Herrmann, her parents Jud and Thelma Farrell, her sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Bob Gorman, her mother and father-in-law Harlow and Rose Eleanor Herrmann, and two daughter-in-laws Virginia Hollander Herrmann and Patty Zaccardi Herrmann.

A grave side service will be held at 1:00pm on November 14, 2025, at St Edward's Catholic Church in Bloomington, MN.
