Maple Grove, MN - age 88, of Maple Grove, passed away on March 29, 2025, at her home in Maple Grove. Judie was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on May 30, 1936. She graduated from Colorado Springs High School, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Judie loved to read, travel, and other activities. Preceded in death by her husband Richard Carlson, mother Vivian Albritton (Hackney), sister Jeanine Johnston (Bright), sister Joanna Bright, son Russ Guest, and son Robert Guest. Survived by daughters René Maas (Guest) and Rochelle Bayers (Guest), and daughter-in-law Debra Guest (Russ); grandchildren Brendan Bayers (Lexi), Angela Bayers, Alex Maas (Katie) and Abby Dugard (Maas)(Matt); great-grandchildren Tristan, Grayson, and Sophie Bayers and Jordan Maas; stepchildren Diane Aadland (Carlson), Denise Carey (Carlson), and Daniel Carlson. The family wishes to thank St. Croix Hospice and Comfort Keepers for their kindness and care. Judie didn't live very long at Silver Creek on Main in Maple Grove, but she was so happy to have moved there in June 2024. She was always commenting on how friendly everyone was. Her body was donated to the University of Minnesota Health Sciences Department and will have her ashes spread at Better Place Forests at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Judie's honor can be made online to St. Croix Hospice or an animal charity of your choice - her favorite animal charity was ASPCA.
