Mound, MN - Joyce Jones (Danielsen), age 96, of Mound, Minnesota, and Sarasota, Florida, passed away with her boys by her side on March 8, 2026. Joyce was preceded in death by David, her beloved husband of 56 years. She is lovingly survived by her sons, George (Jacki) and Todd (Annette); five grandchildren - Carrie, Nicholas, Kristin, Luke, and Sara; four great-grandchildren; and special family members Katie Miceli (Russ), Justin, and Emily; nephew Bob Danielsen; and nieces Nancy Shonka (Gordy) and Sally Jones. Joyce grew up in South Minneapolis and spent summers with her family in Spring Park on Lake Minnetonka. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and later attended the University of Minnesota. Joyce taught second grade at Long Lake Elementary School. After marrying David, Joyce devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising their two boys. She was deeply involved in their lives and endlessly supportive of them and their friends. As a PTA chair and devoted parent, she never missed a school event, practice, or game. Joyce was truly a woman of substance. She didn't just exist—she LIVED. And she lived not only for herself, but for her loved ones and those around her. Her warmth, dedication, and spirited presence will be remembered by all who knew her. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 3745 Shoreline Dr, Orono. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service, with a reception to follow. Memorials are preferred to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the Gillespie Center in Mound. As Joyce would say: "Toodle-oo"
