Isanti, MN - Joseph Michael Aadland, 63, passed away Friday, January 9th, 2026, at his Isanti home with family by his side.

Joe was born March 17th, 1962, in Minneapolis, MN to Joan Aadland. He grew up an only child; however, surrounded by many cousins, he often recalled the shenanigans of the early days with his "functional siblings."

Joe attended Anoka Technical College for Small Engine Mechanic Technology. As the owner of his own auto mechanic shop in Columbia Heights for many years, he was a self-driven, ambitious, man who was determined to be his own boss. In his younger days, he worked in HVAC at Anderson's Heating and Air and managed his own house-siding business.

In his early years, Joe was married to Sherry, his child-hood sweetheart. Joe had many close friends, cousins, and other family members who all remember him for his big bear hugs, his infectious grin, and his sense of humor. His life-long friends Kyle & Brenda and their children, his many friends from the shop, his Aunt Barb, as well as several cousins maintained a steady presence in his life.

His hobbies included motorcycles, playing guitar, fishing, camping, and hanging out with his grandson, whom he lovingly referred to as his "C-Dogg." A lover of nature, he enjoyed being outside among the trees and going for a drive along the river.

Joe is survived by his children: Jessica (Charles) McGrath, Brianna (Jesse) Booth, and Andrew (Lauren) Aadland; Grandchildren: Mason McGrath, Renee Booth, Curtis Pryor, and AJ Aadland.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Aadland, who also passed away on January 9th in the year 1988.

A celebration of Joe's life is planned for Saturday, March 14, 2026, at La Casita Mexican Restaurant in Columbia Heights, from 2-5 pm. This was Joe's favorite place to celebrate "Taco Tuesdays."
