John Michael Sivert Obituary
Mpls - Sivert, John Michael grew up in Elwood, Indiana. After studies at Purdue University, he enlisted in the Army, serving in Bordeaux, France, where he met his future wife, Eileen. They later lived in the French cities of Aix-en- Provence and, with their children, Montpellier. John spent time as a social worker, a history teacher and a government worker. In a mid-career change, he earned a law degree at Hamline Law School, then opened a solo practice. John enjoyed painting, biking, cross-country skiing and time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed volunteer work, especially driving for Meals on Wheels (often bringing his daughters along to help). He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eileen, daughters Maria (Marshall) and Laura, granddaughters Allison, Josephine, Fiona. A celebration of John's life will be held on July 25 at 3:00 pm at Lake Harriet United Methodist Church.
