John and Marion Rova were married for over 62 years. John and Marion shared a love for food, music, travel. John was a caring father to his three sons, Timo, Joel and Jonathan, and 'Apu' to grandchildren - Annela (Reese), Leif, Suvi, Nestor, Paavo, Johan, Tuuli; great grandchildren - Brynn, Ilmari, Berom. He was patient, kind, wise, and loving. His deeply held faith in Jesus was the source of his loving and forgiving ways.
John was an architect whose career spanned over fifty years. Several notable projects - St. Paul Civic Center, Giant's Ridge; historical restoration - State Theater, Winona County Courthouse, Fort Snelling; senior housing including Catholic Elder Care, Auburn Housing. He was a gifted watercolorist and sang in many choirs.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, January 17th at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 Ninth St. W., Hastings, MN at 1:00 pm with visitation at 12n, reception following.
