John Luman McCoy III Obituary

Edina, MN - John Luman McCoy III, 56, of Edina, MN passed away peacefully at home September 20, 2025. John is survived by his mother Charlene; his daughter Lexi and sisters Deborah Lundstrom (David), Patricia McCoy; nieces Lauren Ellis (James) and Ramsay Mathews; nephews, Erik and Michael Lundstrom, Sean McCoy and Cole Mathews. Preceded in death by his father John L. McCoy Jr.

John grew up in Edina, where he played hockey and won a State Championship with the Edina High School team. He continued his hockey career playing junior Hockey with the Sioux City Musketeers and at a collegiate level for both Alabama Huntsville and the University of North Dakota where he graduated in 1993. John was the proud owner of his own Telecommunications business, US Connect, for the past 15 years.

John had a passion for his daughter Alexis, his partner Jen Browning, his dogs, and all sports and pranks. John will be remembered for his competitive spirit, love of family and friends, and quick-witted sense of humor.

Celebration Service will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Edina, MN on Wednesday October 22, at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior
