Edina - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Roy Leak, a beloved father and grandfather. John departed this life peacefully at age 100 on November 19, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of kindness, integrity and faith in Jesus Christ.

Survived by daughters, LeeAnn (Bruce) Nelson and Michelle (Tom) Terwilliger; grandchildren, Mike (Stacy) Nelson, Natalie (Taylor) Lee, Sophie (Kouami) Adje, Jennifer, John (Megan) Terwilliger, Bobby (Lauren) Terwilliger, Amy, and great grandchildren, Ruby, Cleo, Ryan, and Holly.

John was born on September 14, 1925, and grew up in Minneapolis. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was known for his unwavering work ethic, sense of humor, piano playing & teaching and love of sports. After the war, John attended Augsburg College where he met his late wife, Mary Lee Peterson celebrating 60 years of marriage. John worked for Richfield Schools teaching elementary students for almost 40 years.

Throughout his life, John was actively involved in his community, volunteering his time and talents to Y's Men Club, Loaves and Fishes, and the Masonic Home.

More than anything else, "Grampy" was a wonderful father and grandfather who was loved and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6901 Normandale Rd, Edina, MN with visitation an hour prior.
