Edina - My beloved Jack passed away on New Year's Eve due to complications following a heart procedure, which occurred on his 94th birthday, November 6, after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Over the last twenty years, Jack faced several life-threatening medical challenges and always managed to defy the odds, but my bionic man finally wore out. The care he received at Fairview-Southdale Hospital was compassionate and nurturing until the very end. Jack cherished the life he shared with Diane, his loving and supportive wife of 49 years. He was always content and never desired more than what he believed he had earned in life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isabel and Eugene, siblings Jean, Patrick, Michael, and Susan. He is survived by his wife, Diane, sister Mary Cohea (Kent), special nephews and nieces, grand nieces and nephews, cousins, dear and special friends, wonderful neighbors, and Charlie and Tim. Jack will be interned at Fort Snelling on April 21, at 11am with cemetery honors. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of donations, we encourage you to consider volunteerism. It is the lifeblood of numerous successful organizations that need our support now more than ever. Hospitals, healthcare facilities, religious organizations, schools, and many other charitable institutions rely on volunteers to function effectively. The need is always significant.
