John Forster (Perry) Obituary
Eden Prairie, MN - Age 84, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, died April 11, 2026. Perry was born to Jack Gerald and Margaret Ruth (Logan) Forster in Regina, Saskatchewan, on May 21, 1941. Perry graduated from Kelvin High School and United College of Manitoba in Winnipeg. While doing his master's degree at the University of Minnesota, a blind date with Lynne Maher led to a 61-year marriage. Perry started his career at General Mills before moving to Carmichael Lynch, leading research for such brands as Harley-Davidson, McDonald's and WCCO. Perry won a Bush Fellowship in 1981, which he used to attend the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University. Later he headed the London, UK, office of MarketTools. Perry served on the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District for nearly two decades and was a volunteer soccer and hockey coach in Eden Prairie. Perry loved all sports, but hockey was No. 1 — he was a lifelong fan of the Regina Pats and later the Minnesota Wild, and he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play. Perry is survived by wife, Lynne; children Sean (Molly Schirmer) and Stacy (Colin Benedict); grandchildren Taylor, Tori, Owen and Carys; sister-in-law Laurel Anderson and nephew Jonas Anderson; and cousins from the Logan side of his family. Stop by to celebrate Perry's life at Riley-Jacques Barn in Eden Prairie 4-8 p.m. Sunday, May 31.
