John F. Fisher Obituary

White Bear Lake, MN - In the wee hours of Sunday morning May 31st 2026 at the Pillars of Oakdale Hospice Home John peacefully passed away. Gladly, he was not alone, Jason (son), Lisa (daughter-in-law),Victoria (sister-in-law) and Mary (spouse)were all present.


John was a beloved history teacher (now retired) at Mounds View High School in Arden Hills. John taught history and comparative government and was among the first to write and teach a women's studies course. He was debate coach and advisor for mock trial and chess club among other extra curricular activities. His students were paramount to him. He often said they inspired him.. they motivated him with their curiosity, intelligence and willingness to learn.


John enjoyed history, politics, music and theater. He was a science fiction fan of movies, television and books.
