Blaine, MN - Jewell Duane Copeland, age 85 of Blaine, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2025. Jewell was born in Illinois on March 17, 1940 to Jewell McKinley and Ruth (Morrison) Copeland.

When Jewell was young, his family relocated to Texas. As a young man, he left Texas on his Indian motorcycle making his way to Minnesota where he found work in tree service. He spent his career being self-employed. He founded his own construction company and eventually changed careers after obtaining a realtor license. He spent over 30 years as a realtor and earned the Graduate of Realtor Institute designation.

Jewell loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed hosting annual picnic parties which family and his large group of friends would attend. He also enjoyed traveling, home improvement projects, and just tinkering around the house.

Jewell was known for being very devoted to his family and for treating friends like family.

Jewell was preceded in death by his parents Jewell Copeland and Ruth (Morrison) Kerr, his wife Barbara (Nettleton) Copeland, and his sister Donna (Copeland) Ortiz.

He is survived by his wife Mary Kay, daughter Connie Copeland, sons Duane (Kristine) and Garrett (Suzanne) Copeland, Mary Kay's son Tony Fangel and daughter Shelly (Jesse) Willey, sister Reata (Copeland) Benson, brothers Jimmie Copeland and Robert Kerr, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Mary Kay Copeland on September 21 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Those wishing to honor Jewell's memory may make a donation to Alzheimer's Association in his name.

Jewell will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
