Jerald Anderson (Jerry) Obituary

Mpls, MN - Jerald "Jerry" Anderson passed away peacefully at home after a battle with dementia. Born on February 10, 1945, he spent his early years in Henning, MN before moving with his family to Como Avenue in Southeast Minneapolis. There, he became a state champion in gymnastics and graduated from Marshall High School in 1963.

After high school, Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he began a long career at Mackay Envelope in Southeast Minneapolis. He raised his two sons, Chad and Dan, in Blaine, MN, where the family lived for 18 years before Jerry returned to his beloved Southeast Minneapolis in 1994. He remained there for the rest of his life.

Along the way, Jerry met the love of his life, Vickie, and through her welcomed two more children, Kandace Vik and Kyle Schellenberg, into his heart and family.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, John and Thea Anderson, and his sister, Beverly Reiling. He is survived by his wife, Vickie Anderson; his children Chad (Taunya), Dan (Pam), Kyle (Angela), and Kandace (Casey); and his grandchildren Tyler, Olivia, Evelyn, Caroline, Kaitlyn, Paige, and Carsen.


Celebration of life to be held on Sunday, 4/26/2026 from 1pm-4pm at the NE Moose Bar & Grill at 356 Monroe St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413
