Eagan, MN - "J.O." Jean Olive Griffith, age 86, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, in Eagan, Minnesota. Born on May 16, 1939, in Chicago, IL. J.O. lived a life filled with music, love, and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and community.

J.O. was a devoted mother to three children: Randy Griffith and his wife Kelly; Kristin Burggraaff and her husband Doug; and Barry Griffith and his wife Dawn. She was a proud grandmother to Jack, Alex and wife Jessica, Tanner, Brandon, and Connor. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister Mary Wickstrom and her husband Russ, and brother Clark Whitford and wife Ebby; and sister-in-law Judy Whitford, J.O. was preceded in death by her brother Wendell Whitford.

J.O. attended University of Iowa on a music scholarship where she was elected home coming queen, sang and performed in music concerts and was a finalist in the Ms. Iowa Beauty Pageant.

She found immense joy singing professionally with the Minnesota Chamber Chorale at Orchestra Hall as well as in her church choir. Her voice brought comfort and inspiration to many. A gifted musician and passionate educator, J.O. shared her love of music through teaching voice and piano to students over the years.

J.O.'s life was marked by compassion and strength. She had a kind heart that led her to help others whenever possible. In times of crisis, she was the rock who stepped forward with resolve and tenacity supporting her friends and family through life's challenges.

Her family was the heart of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was often found cheering on her kids at a ski race or her grandkids hockey, lacrosse, and baseball games.

She embraced life fully, traveling, enjoying skiing and sports, nurturing deep friendships, and always making time for those she loved. Her home at Lexington Pointe in recent years became a place of warmth where she continued to share laughter and connection with those around her.

Jean Olive "J.O." Griffith leaves behind a legacy of music, resilience, generosity, and love. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her, and she will be missed.
