Jay Jerome Williams, 87, of Leesburg, FL passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, in Robbinsdale, MN. Jay was born July 3, 1937, in Virginia, MN to Laury and Aily Williams. Jay lived a life filled with curiosity, kindness, and a deep love for family and friends. He carried the values of his hometown with him throughout his life — hard work, integrity, and an easygoing ability to connect with anyone he met.

Jay's journey took him to Michigan Tech, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, competed on the swim team, and was a member of the fraternity Theta Tau. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota, obtaining a Master's in Engineering. His career spanned decades at General Mills and Pillsbury, where his expertise and dedication left a lasting mark.

After embracing retirement, Jay and his beloved wife of 40 years, Rosemary, moved to Leesburg, Florida. Together, they created a life filled with adventure— enjoying cruises, exploring Disney parks, and spending summers visiting family and friends in MN and MD. Jay had a passion for gardening, earning his Master Gardener certification in 2002 from Discovery Gardens in Florida.

Beyond his many interests, Jay was a true people person. Whether rocking in his chair, cooking and entertaining friends, working in his garden, or striking up conversations with strangers, he had an unmatched gift for finding connections with people. He loved uncovering shared histories and weaving those threads into the fabric of his relationships.

Jay is survived by his wife Rosemary Williams, children, Jeff (Diana) Williams and Janelle (Mark) Frantzen, and his grandchildren: Justin, Matt, and Shelby Williams, and Joey and Julianna Frantzen. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda (Tony) Begich, whom he held dear in his heart.

Jay's warmth, humor, and ability to connect with others, will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His family will hold a private interment in the coming days. In honor of his memory, may we all take a moment to connect with someone new, share a story, or plant something beautiful — just as he always did.
