Janice Mae Graham Obituary

Bloomington, MN - Janice Mae Graham, née Johnson, affectionately known as Jan to her friends and family, was the embodiment of pure love and generosity to all who knew her. Born on May 1, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN, she lived a life of kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith. On August 6, 2025, at the age of 83, Jan was called home after a brave journey through multiple illnesses.

Jan's early life in Minneapolis was the foundation of her strong character. A graduate of North High Minneapolis in 1960, she pursued her passion for real estate, shaping the Minneapolis Metro Area with the development and sale of over 16,000 residential housing units. Jan's professional life was more than a career; it was a calling. She not only sold real estate, but nurtured relationships with her colleagues, whom she held dear as an extended family. Her quick wit and empathetic nature made her a cherished figure among her work associates.

In her personal life, Jan's heart was always with her family. She was the loving wife of her late husband, Tom, and mother to Darcie Norby and Mark Norby (Gary Taruscio). Her role as grammie to Ava and Poppy Norby was one of her greatest joys, as was the companionship of her adored dog, Star. Her cousin Diane (Harvey) Keller was like a sister to Jan. Cousins Sandra Arnlund, Nancie (Gary) Russ, "the girls" — special friends Nancy, Bev, Faye, Donna, Linda, Lois, Dee, and her precious friend and neighbor Laurie Nemanich, were all influenced by Jan's gentle spirit.

Jan's Christian beliefs illuminated her path, guiding her through life's challenges with strength and fortitude. Her interests were as vibrant and varied as her personality. From her love of red cars to her passion for vegetable gardening, flowers and candles, golf, and card games, Jan embraced life with enthusiasm. Her travels, particularly the cherished winters spent in Kona, Hawaii, with Tom, were among her most treasured experiences, as was the memory of her beautiful second home in La Costa, San Diego. Jan traveled to many countries thoughout Europe, as well as many destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean.

Always ready to lend a hand or share a moment of laughter, Jan's presence was a comfort, her words a source of encouragement. Jan seemed to know what was in your heart.

A Memorial Mass Celebration will be held at Pax Christi Catholic Church September 16, 2025; visitation 10 am, Memorial Mass 11 am, luncheon 12 pm. All are invited to attend.

From her immediate family, each one of us would like to say:

Mom, I will follow you,

and you will follow me,

and together we will be,

in the sunshine,

forever.
