Maple Grove, MN - Janet (Jelvick) Boettcher, 78, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, in Maple Grove, MN. Born on March 4, 1947, Jan's life was marked by her healing hands, unwavering kindness and the joy she brought to others. She grew up in Richfield, MN, and was a proud graduate of Richfield High School. She furthered her education at Normandale and the UofM, laying the groundwork for her lifelong dedication to caring professions.

Jan built a fulfilling career as a registered nurse before extending her expertise to become a licensed massage therapist and energy healer. Her professional life was devoted to providing comfort and healing to those most in need -- older adults, cancer patients, children, and individuals with special needs. Jan cherished her relationships with her patients and colleagues alike, impacting countless lives through her work at nursing homes, pain clinics, and notably at Allina Health and Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

But most importantly, Jan was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She was known for her sweet, generous spirit, sense of humor, love of dogs and willingness to do anything for her loved ones. She was a talented artist and enjoyed shopping, romance novels, the Hallmark Channel, exercising daily and spending relaxing times Up North. As a passionate fan of the Minnesota Vikings, she had eternal optimism and wore her favorite color purple until the end.

She is survived by her children and their spouses Bret (Eva), Stacey (Jeff) and Chad (Marcus); her grandchildren Maddie, Michael and Makenna; her former husband Bruce, and brother-in-law Scott Weiss. She was preceded in death by her father Ingvald Jelvick, mother Gladys (Erickson) Jelvick, and sister JoAnne (Jelvick) Weiss.

Though she leaves behind a legacy of love and nurturing, Jan will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life and visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1-4 pm at the American Swedish Institute's Paulson Hall, 2600 Park Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55407.
