Tavares, Florida - Age 85, passed away on 9/21/24 in Tavares, Fl. surrounded by his family. Jim was born and raised in Mpls. Mn and went to West HS and the U of M. He touched many young lives as a renowned youth coach in the early days of the Eagan Athletic Association.

Jim and his first wife Joyce, had 3 children Lee (Tom) Cherne, Scott (Robyn), and Amy. In 1995, he married Karen Crislip and had 3 stepsons Michael (Martha), Richard (Amy), David (Rebecca). They had 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Jim is survived by his sister, Mary and preceded in death by his brother, Roger, and son-in-law Jim Tonjum.

Jim worked as a salesmen until he formed his own company, SAF-T-LADDERS. In 2004, he retired in Tavares Florida. Jim was a lover of life, family, friends and good conversation. He was kind, gentle and always available with good advice.
