Bloomington - James Joseph Haeg, of Bloomington, 93, died peacefully on April 19, 2026.

Jim was born on October 3, 1932, in Minneapolis and attended Roosevelt High School. He married Nancy (Connell) on September 12, 1953. They were married for 69 years and raised five children in the home they built during their first year of marriage, where Jim lived until his death.

Jim was many things to many people: Dad, Bapa, Great-Grandpa, coach, friend, and role model. Member of the Bloomington Hall of Fame, member of the Plumbers' Union for over 70 years, volunteered at Nativity of Mary Church and Bridging. Jim loved nothing more than visiting with others, watching sports on TV, and playing cribbage. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a beloved uncle and friend.

Survived by his children, Jerry, Ken (Jan), Dan (Erin), Kathleen, and Margaret; grandchildren Courtney Thomas (Devin), Danny (Perrine), Molly, Lucy, Clare, and great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Beckman Thomas, Lilla Haeg, and brother Jerome (Carol).

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; parents, Joseph and Philomena; siblings, Ray, Joan, Mary, and Tom; and granddaughter, Lauren.

Jim and Nancy were dedicated members of the Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on May 6, at 11:00 am, at Nativity of Mary Church, 9900 Lyndale Ave. S., Bloomington, MN 55420. Visitation May 5, from 4:00-6:00 pm, at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 9947 Lyndale Ave. S., Bloomington, and beginning at 10:00 am prior to the service at the Church.
