Peoria, Arizona - James "Jim" Goralski (1947 - 2025)
passed away on Wednesday, July 9th, at his AZ home after an 8-year battle with cancer. He was 78. Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Goralski; his sisters Marlene Scott (TN) and Barbara (Rick) Slaten (SC); and nieces Kelsey Holtzhauer (FL), Major Elsbeth Scott USAF (WA), and Erica Slaten (FL). He also leaves behind many beloved relatives and friends.
Born in Chicago, Jim was raised by his aunt, Irene Paskvan. He served honorably in the US Army National Guard (1970-1976), reaching Sergeant E-5. Jim spent most of his career in marketing and advertising in Minneapolis, including roles at Pillsbury, Paragon Advertising, and as a partner at MH&P Advertising. A passionate writer, he won awards and served on the board of The Loft Literary Center. He also earned a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Hamline University.
An avid hiker, Jim and Linda explored the Andes, Himalayas, Japanese Alps, and European ranges. Drawn by Jackson Hole's beauty (his Polish surname means "people from the mountains"), they moved there, residing for over two decades. Jim worked at local art galleries, notably Heather James Fine Art, and served on boards like The Murie Center and pARTners. His love for music led him to host "Soul in The Hole" on KHOL Community Radio. Jim was known for his humor and enjoyed hiking, golf, music, and wine dinners.
His ashes will be scattered in Jackson Hole.
