Blanchard, James Jarchow Age 86, of Lakeville, MN, passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2025. Preceded in death by Nancy Blanchard, wife of 65 years, parents Cecil and Verna Blanchard, and son Christopher Blanchard. He is survived by children, Mary Liz Holberg, Ann (Jason) Blanchard, Jay (Sue) Blanchard, Robbin (Kerstin) Blanchard; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, more than 150 Foster Children over 35 years, as well as many family members and friends. MN National Guard 55-58, Graduate of Northwest TV and Electronics School 1960. Jim grew up in Pine City, MN where his parents owned the Blanchard Bakery on main street. He excelled in sports and was voted the "Class Fox" of the Dragon Class of 1956. It was there that he found his life love, Nancy, a "city girl" who spent her summers at a Cross Lake cabin. As an avid hunter, fisherman, camper, and community volunteer he was always up for an adventure. As a partner to Nancy, he was the steady father figure to his own family as well as the children that came to live in their home. As an engineer for Honeywell and accomplished "fix everything" guy, there was no problem that he couldn't solve. He urged others to save for a rainy day, engage your brain before opening your mouth, and to make the place better than it was when you arrived. Often in the shadow of his wife, he was no less than her equal in providing a supportive home filled with love for all who came to live or visit. Service will be held in the Memorial Chapel at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, June 27, 2025, at 10 am. Interment with Nancy Blanchard following the service.
