Herman Oscar Asproth Obituary

New Brighton - Asproth, Herman Oscar Born November 5, 1928 and went home to join his wife Dolores and family in the comfort of our Lord and Savior on June 7, 2025. Herman proudly served our country in the United States Airforce during the Korean conflict. He spent his last days on Dignity Lane at the Veterans Medical Center in Minneapolis. He was comforted, shared stories, had many prayers and songs with the multitude of good friends and family who loved him dearly at his side. Herman started life in Mahtowa, Minnesota as the youngest of six children, where they farmed for a living. He overcame many challenges to grow to be a strong Christian husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and dear friend. After leaving the Airforce, Herman attended school at Dunwoody Institute where he learned the skills to become a Machinist. He spent twenty years working for Howe Richardson Scale Company. His career concluded at his retirement from Totino's Pizza (Pillsbury Corporation). In addition to using his talents to provide for his family, he was considered a reliable neighbor and friend to those needing his help. Herman served in his church in multiple supporting roles as a volunteer wherever needed. Herman was blessed to win the heart of Dolores Carlson, a lifetime neighbor in Carlton County. They were married on September 12, 1953. They lived serving the Lord and taking care of each other until Dolores was called home September 27, 2014. During their 61 years of marriage, they had four children: Cynthia (Mike Hurley), Gregory (Nancy Michurski), Charles (fiancée Judy Andrescik), and Jewel (Mike Klugherz). Herman is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He is preceded in heaven by his father John and mother Selma (Skoglund), his brothers Ed, Roy, Carl , sister Pearl (Penny) Voightschild and grandsons Jason Dean Webb and Noah John Asproth. We love you Herman. Funeral service is being held Monday, June 16th, at 11:00 AM at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 8211 Red Oak Dr., Mounds View, MN. Visitation at 10:00 AM, reception to follow service. Burial at 4:00 PM at Atkinson Community Cemetery, 2589 CR 144, Carlton, MN. www.Washburn-McReavy.com Columbia Hts Chapel 763-789-4436
