Herb was a great friend and always treated me was such kindness. I feel very fortunate to have known him and was able to enjoy his friendship.

The last time I saw Herb was at Target in Vadnais Heights. We hadn't seen each other for a few years, although we'd talked of staying in touch after 30 years of working together. As he hugged me good-bye, he said, "Love you, kid."
