Hedlund, Helen JoAnne (Davis) (90) born February 13, 1935 ended her journey here on earth on March 17, 2025. We say goodbye to our mother with sadness for ourselves but with faith that she will be reunited with her husband of 70 years DeWayne and her son Dean. Helen was the best mom to Dawn, Jeff, Lori, Dean, Kevin, and Janet. Helen was born to Howard and Marian Davis in Downing. She attended grade school in Downing, along with her sisters; Inez, Ruth and June. Helen graduated from Glenwood City High School in 1953. She found the love of her life in Dewayne Hedlund, they were married on May 12th 1954. They moved to Minnesota and raised their family in South Minneapolis. In 1972 Dewayne and Helen purchased a hobby farm outside of Downing and it became known simply as THE FARM where they had many weekends of great times with many friends and family. Hosting weekend snowmobile parties, playing cards and always enjoying having people around to laugh with. Helen enjoyed many years of friendship with her neighbors in Minneapolis and always loved hosting the "coffee" club luncheons. When Helen and Dewayne moved to the farm full-time they became members of St. Lukes Catholic Church in Boyceville. She was the ultimate hostess and anyone who came to visit were quickly asked if they wanted coffee, beer or a "juice" Her laughter, her love and her readiness to always join in the fun will be missed. Hopefully, you will see her goodness and her sense of fun in the eyes of her family. Helen is preceded in death by her husband DeWayne Hedlund, son Dean Hedlund, daughter-in-law Pam Hedlund, parents Marian and Harold Davis, and sisters Inez Storey and Ruth Huber. Survived by her children, Dawn (Kevin) Tschaen, Jeff Hedlund, Lori (Bill) Hurtgen, Kevin, and Janet (Tony) Smith; sister, June Hansen; sisters-in-law, Judy Hedlund, Sherry Bay, Sandy (George) Rooney, Sheila (Paul) Webber; her grandchildren, Alex, Amanda, James Dewayne "J.D", Jolene (Tom), Kathy (Brad), Kristin (Bill), Theresa (Matt), Melissa (Troy), Mike (Heather), Miles, Morgan (Jon), Sara (Mike), Sarah; great-grandchildren, Dean, Blake, Cheyenne, Maverick, Paxton, Landon, Logan, Carter, Conner, Caitlynn, Laurel, Lilou, Harli, Dylan, Derek, Bradley, Makayla, Esabella, Ty, and four great-great-grand-children. Also survived by her special friend Dorothy Smith; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and Godchildren. Special mention to Dorothy Smith for being such a great friend and visitor. Thank you to all those who cared for mom in her last days: Shelly, Patty, Liz, Kathy and Kristin. Thank you also to St. Croix Hospice and Home Instead. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Boyceville, WI, at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home on Friday, March 21, 2025.
