Harriet E. Abel Obituary
Abel, Harriet E. Harriet Elizabeth Abel, 78, of Andover died peace- fully with her beloved husband, Wally, by her side on Jan. 3, 2025. Harriet was a wonderful wife, mother and loving grandmother who put family above all. She was like a second Mom to many and was always up for an adventure. Her motto was "What happens at Gramma's stays at Gramma's" and was known to serve cookies and ice cream to the kids for breakfast (shhh). She made the best pancakes, meatloaf and au gratin potatoes in town. Harriet enjoyed summer days in her beautiful garden, fishing trips & motorcycle rides with her sweetheart, getting down on the floor to play with her grandkids, and relaxing on the deck with friends and family. Harriet was preceded in death by her parents (Louise and Carl Rother), brother (Norbert Rother), and children (Carin Norman and Charles Abel-Lear). She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Walter Abel Sr; siblings Charlotte Schiller, Judy (Dewey) Reinholdt, Donna Koosman, Leander (Fran) Rother, Don Rother, Charlie Rother and Jerry (Rosie) Rother; children Michelle Leslie, Wally (Vi) Abel Jr, Tom (Kari) Abel, and Patti (Jeff) Winger; Scott Abel-Lear and Josh Norman; 7 amazing grandchildren and 6 adorable great-grandchildren.
