Minnetonka, MN - Gothriel James "Fred" LaFleur

Age 80, of Minnetonka, passed away peacefully, at home, on June 13, 2025. Preceded in death by parents, Frederick and Maggie Austin La Fleur, and sisters, Fredericka and Marcenia La Fleur. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was always ready to listen to and support his loved ones. Fred was a highly respected professional, mentor and trailblazer. He had a long and prestigious career in Commerce and Corrections that included being Commissioner of Corrections for the State of MN and Director of Community Corrections for Hennepin County. Fred is survived by his wife, Deborah Renshaw; daughters Jelanna, Jamila (Mikal) and Liza; grandchildren Yazmin, Karmah, Babette and Waleed; nephew Delbert; niece Sharonia; grand niece Tonkiqua and many other relatives and friends.
