Gerald Schwartz (Jerry) Obituary
Blaine - 96, formerly of Blaine, MN, passed away September 10, 2025 at the Minnesota Veteran's Home, Bemidji, MN. Born in MPLS. MN, later moved with his family to the Swanville/Upsala area where he grew up and attended school. In March 1946, he enlisted in the US Navy, honorably discharged in December of 1947. He returned to the Twin Cities area, working many odd jobs before landing a permanent position at the former FMC, in Fridley, MN. He was an active member of his union, Local 683, and served several years as its president. He also enjoyed many years of league bowling until his 90th birthday.
Jerry is survived by his:5 Sons, Jerry (Debbie), Jim (Mary Lou), Joe, Brian, Robert, and Daughter, Jeanne, 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Sisters, 2 brothers, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Burial with Military Honors will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, MPLS, MN, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 11AM. A casual memorial gathering will follow at the Fridley American Legion, Post 303 from noon-3pm. Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.
