Minneapolis, MN - Gerald (Jerry) Duane Kallinen, 81, of Minneapolis, formerly of Max Township, Itasca County, Minnesota, left this world in May 2025, at his residence. Jerry entered this world on January 15, 1944, in Wadena, Minnesota, born to Clifford and Viola Kallinen (nee Kallio). Jerry grew up in a rural home in Max Township, Minnesota and graduated from Blackduck High School in Blackduck, Minnesota. Jerry entered the Navy when he turned of age and was honorably discharged. Jerry led a quiet, reserved life. Jerry is survived by his sons Davey and Daniel Nelson of Beltrami County, Minnesota, brothers Ronald (Ron) Kallinen of Katy, Texas, Kevin Kallinen of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and Randall (Randy) Kallinen of Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by parents Clifford and Viola and brother Clyde Kallinen of Aitken County, Minnesota, and stepfather Sulo Mattila and stepbrothers Wayne and Emory Mattila of Oteneagen Township, Itasca County, Minnesota. Jerry will be interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at a time to be announced. Jerry's reserved nature, resiliency, and spirit will be sorely missed and never forgotten!
