Bloomington, MN - George H. Hoops, 93, of Bloomington, Minnesota, died peacefully surrounded by his family on June 3, 2026.

George was born in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1951. Following his school years, George built a career at Honeywell, retiring in 1988.

George and his first wife Audrey married after high school and moved to Minnetonka, Minnesota. They had 3 children and eventually moved to Maple Grove, Minnesota where they resided until Audrey's death in 1976.

A few years later George met Anne (formerly Kaczor) and they married in 1987. After George retired, he and Anne relocated to Tucson, Arizona, where they spent many joyful years traveling, volunteering, and enjoying square dancing. They later returned to the Twin Cities area, settling in Bloomington to be near family.

George was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey (née Stearns); his daughter, Susan; his parents, Albert and Caroline; and his siblings, Albert, AnnaBelle Moore (née Hoops), Floyd, and LeRoy.

He is survived by his wife, Anne; his children, Tim (Lenore) and Rob (Libby); and Anne's daughters, Eileen Kopp (Tom), Sharon Kaczor-Herzog (Patrick), and Rita Stodolka (Steve),

his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be no formal funeral services. He chose to donate his body to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program for medical education and research.
