Genevieve Aamodt Obituary

Aamodt, Genevieve "Jennie" age 97 of Minneapolis died peacefully on 7/7/2024 at her home. Born in Strasberg, North Dakota in 1927, and preceded in death by parents Genevieve and John Leier, Husband Glenn Aamodt and eight brothers and sisters. Survived by a loving family - Daughters: Nancy (Gary) Groen, Patty Wollak, Barb (Wayne) Chinen and known lovingly as 'Grammy' by her 6 Grandchildren: Katie, John, Jennifer, Chad, Robert & Christopher and 4 great grandchildren. Jennie lived a wonderful life full of family and friends, and was a passionate fan of Gopher basketball and Twins baseball. One of her favorite sayings was "Free throws win games." She spent her last 21 years at Nokomis Square where she made many great friends, and was a devout member of St. Leonard's community. She enjoyed reading the stories of people's lives in the weekly obituaries. And if you knew Jennie, you undoubtedly have a story to carry with you. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Services Tuesday 7/16 at St Leonard's Catholic Church. Visitation at 10am, Mass at 11am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation which was very dear to Jennie's heart.
