Gary Lee Smith Obituary
Savage - Gary Lee Smith of Savage, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025. Born in Kokomo, Indiana, he was the son of Merritt and Pauline Smith. Gary graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and later earned his MBA from St. Louis University. His career included roles with McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft, Edwards Air Force Base, Control Data, NATCO, and Jostens. He was a published author and an active member of CBMC and Gideons International.
Gary is survived by his wife of 66 years, Freya; his brother, Robert (Beverly); four children; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two nephews.
Services will be held December 5 at Hillside Church in Bloomington, with visitation at 10:00 A.M. and the funeral at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Grand-View Park Cemetery, Hopkins.
