Minneapolis, MN - Gareth Downs, Age 82, died on June 28 at his home in Minneapolis. Born November 13, 1942 in Boulder Colorado, Gary grew up in Minneapolis, attended University High School and the University of Minnesota. After earning an M.A. in American Studies, he taught European History at Normandale Community College and Bucks County Community College in Newton, PA. Although many things in life disappointed him, he never lost his passion for history, music and travel. He is survived by his sisters Amy Downs (Gary Rudy), Allison Downs, Barbara Downs Hodne (Tom Hodne), a niece and three nephews. A breakfast gathering in his honor will be held July 12, 8:30-11:30 in the community room of 110 West Grant, where Gary found home and friendship for more than twenty years.
