Francine Horowitz Obituary
Horowitz, Francine Francine Horowitz, born Francine Barbara Lewis, was a woman of remarkable strength, warmth, and sophistication. Born on the 24th of October, 1936, in New York, NY, she lived a rich, joyful life filled with love, art, and family. She began her professional life with a BA in education, teaching at Chicago Cabrini Elementary School. This was followed by a pause to raise her three beloved children, after which she pursued her passion for art, completing a BA and MA in Art History at the University of Minnesota. She then established a successful career as a private art dealer, specializing in 20th century American art. Francine's love story with her husband, Arthur, began with a blind date and spanned over six decades. They would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on March 29. She adored her family, and is survived by her husband, Arthur; her children, Leslie, Charles, and Jonathan; her nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Her parents, Sam and Elizabeth Lewis, preceded her in death. She was passionate about travel, health and nutrition, classical music, opera, theater, and the Beatles, infusing her life and the lives of those around her with a rich tapestry of cultural experiences. A graveside service for Francine will be held on SUNDAY, 23rd March 2025 at 11:00 am CDT at ADATH YESHURUN CEMETERY, 5605 France Avenue South, Edina, Minnesota, 55410.
