Frances Ann Muller Obituary
Age 90, Fran passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024. She is preceded in death by husband, Virgil M. Muller, parents Fred and Fannie Schoeneman, and sister Gail Thompson. She is survived by son, Dana (Susan) Muller, Debra (Robert) Gardner, Dawn (Chris) Spragg, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Fran was born March 30, 1934 in Ackley, IA, just 10 miles from her future husband. Fran loved riding horses and a spirited colt never kept her away, including her horse, Lucky, which threw her more than once. She spent her summers detasseling corn before entering school in Greeley, CO where she would meet the love of her life, Virg from Aplington, IA while on leave from the service.
Fran and Virg married in 1956, moved to Ames, IA to complete Virg's education and had their son, Dana. New opportunities moved the family to Pierre, SD where Debra was born. With nary a year in SD, better opportunities were calling and the family moved to the Twin Cities where Dawn was born. Virg started a new business, and Fran became the entrepreneur's wife hosting dinners and events. She gained many friends and joined the local bowling and bridge leagues in Bloomington. Over the next 25 yrs, weekends and summers were spent 'Up North' with friends and family at the cabin in Breezy Point, MN. As the grandchildren grew, she and Virg's favorite pastime became attending their events and games. Fran loved a good fishing trip and her and Virg enjoyed travelling to Hawaii, Denmark and New Orleans, to golf or attend Superbowl games. Fran was a Vikings superfan, renown for tailgating at the Met Stadium and Superbowl parties; she continued to safeguard her favorite pins of Alan Page & Larry Csonka.
Later in life Fran got her real estate license and sold homes in the area before taking a position as a receptionist at Presbyterian Homes in Bloomington, MN. Her relationship with PBH continued when she became their resident Independent Living, Assisted Living and finally Memory Care at Summerwood of Chanhassen.
Our family is eternally grateful for the love and support Fran received at Summerwood and from Optage in her final days.
A memorial service will be held at Summerwood of Chanhassen on Monday December 16, 2024, 1:30-3:30pm in the Fireside Lounge, 545 Lake Drive, Chanhassen, MN 55317. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Summerwood of Chanhassen, at the address above, or charity of your choosing.
