Hopkins, MN - Florence Katherine (Hilgers) Brey of St. Louis Park passed away the evening of March 3, 2026 at Chapel View Care Center with her son Tom by her side.

Florence was born September 10, 1928, in Jordan MN. She married James Brey in 1950. They spent 68 years together in St. Louis Park and later Hopkins. Florence was an avid reader and really enjoyed learning; she was deeply interested in world history, all religions, and writing. She enjoyed lunches with her friends at the Lincoln Dell and had lifelong friendships and fun with the Card Club Ladies in the Birchwood neighborhood.

Florence is preceded in death by parents Theodore and Hazel Hilgers, husband Jim, brother Robert Hilgers and sons Joseph and Michael. She is survived by sons Paul (Kris) and Thomas (Terri), grandchildren Timothy (Jennifer), Bryan (Leah), Katherine, Elizabeth, Adrian, Julia and many great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held noon April 20, 2026, at Chapel View Care Center, 615 Minnetonka Mills Rd, Hopkins followed by interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Please share a memory of Florence at cremationsocietyofmn.com
